The VSPA is proud to announce her first lecture of the New Years, so are you ready for round two? The Psychedelics Lecture is back again!
This time with a collaboration from the Amsterdam Psychedelics Research Association.
“APRA is an interdisciplinary, academic association for researchers and university students based in Amsterdam, focusing on substances that show promise for therapy and scientific value, but that suffer an impaired research development because of their legal status or psychoactive effects,” with more information about the APRA being found on their website here, www.apra.science
The 82nd Board of the VSPA is happy to bring back this lecture, as it is a subject many of our members are interested in, and an innovative field of psychology, where new topics are constantly being discovered.
Psychedelics have had a turbulent past. They have been hailed as miracle drugs, capable of relieving any psychiatric illness, but also as wildly dangerous substances. After a major cultural shift in which nearly all psychedelic research became outlawed, researchers are now again looking at the therapeutic value of these substances. This talk will introduce you to the rapidly growing field of psychedelic science, which is becoming increasingly relevant to clinical psychology and psychiatry
We are excited to welcome you on January 18th at 17:00 to REC, where an expert speaker from APRA will be hosting a lecture on the effects of psychedelics. Questions regarding Psychedelics, APRA and more will be welcomed. With your ticket you will be provided entree to the lecture hall as well as snacks, or if you prefer the hybrid route, a link to the lecture. With this lecture you will be receiving a colloquium point.
We to see you there!
